There are many publications that cater to the gay communities.  These publications offer many different services, as well as gay dating sections.   These sections are made available in various formats, from magazines to newspapers.  With millions of magazines and newspapers printed and distributed every day, there are people all around the world that are exposed and educated on the gay dating lifestyle.

 

Thanks to the large push for further exposure and diversity of gay dating, there are many publications that are solely created for the gay communities.  These publications, which include the largely popular magazines such as The Advocate, Curve, and Girlfriends, are very similar to other magazines of the similar nature.  The only difference is that these magazines are geared towards the gay and lesbian cultures, and features columns, stories and advice for gay dating and gay relationships. 

 

Just as with many popular magazines, there are advice columns in the gay and lesbian publication magazines.  These advice columns often relate to experiences that occur during gay dating, such as sexual relationships, and casual encounters.  The advice that is given is often from either a sex therapist or from a counselor that is specialized in gay dating relationships. As with any advice column, people either write in thru snail mail or via the internet, and questions that are of a hot topic are discussed in detail. It is typically thru these publications that gay dating is talked about in further detail, yet not entirely dwelled upon.

 

In the gay publication magazines, such as the Advocate and Curve, there are gay dating advertisements in the back of the magazines.  These ads often cost money for the individuals to post, but work just like the classified ad section of any regular magazine.  In these sections, people can place ads for the type of people that they are interested in dating, as well as giving their credentials for the gay dating encounter.  There are also websites that post in the back of these magazines that offer gay dating services. Some of these websites are free of charge to use, while others take a varying fee to register for the gay dating accommodations.  In recent years, many people are happy to see that there are more and more ads for gay dating in the backs of magazines, and advertised all between the glossy covers.

 

 

Gay dating has taken on a strong stance by the society’s means. However, gays and lesbians are still constantly fighting for their rights.  Thanks to magazines such as Girlfriends, The Advocate, and Curve, gay dating services can be made easier and brought about in a safe and controlled environment. Many companies and organizations that support the gay and lesbian communities as well as the gay dating lifestyle will carry these magazines, or place their company ads for advertisement.  Not only are they bringing in additional revenue from advertising, but they are also showing their support for the gay and lesbian community.  Creating adversity thru diversity is the best way for people to become accepting of the gay dating scene and culture.
